Wilson Marriage Adult Learning Centre
Inviron, the leading building services and facilities management provider, has commenced work, alongside main contractor ISG Jackson Special Projects, on the Grade II Listed Wilson Marriage Adult Learning Centre in Colchester, as part of its £2.5m re-modelling project.

Inviron's Building Systems Eastern division is installing the mechanical and electrical services. This includes heating, ventilation, air conditioning, gas services, as well as internal and external lighting, data cabling and LV distribution.

The centre, owned by Essex County Council, is being improved and extended in order to centralise the adult learning facilities within the town to one site. The accommodation has been thoughtfully re-designed to provide a range of flexible areas for art and craft classes, with further specialist facilities for construction courses.

The building will remain open to the public during the redevelopment, with Inviron's skilled team following a carefully phased schedule of works, to ensure disruption is kept to an absolute minimum, with the centre fully reopening in August 2008.

Colin Clements, Inviron's General Manager, Building Systems Eastern, commented: "We are pleased to be involved in this educational project in Colchester with ISG Jackson Special Projects."

Michael Manning, Divisional Director for ISG Jackson Special Projects, added: "Flexibility is an essential element of live environment projects and we are working closely with our key subcontractors to ensure the Adult Learning Centre is open and operational throughout the duration of this challenging scheme."
