James Boyle, an apprentice with Inviron, the leading building services and facilities management provider, has been named Best Apprentice in London by top training provider JTL.
At the same event, held at Wembley Stadium in October, Inviron was also presented with the Best Apprentice Employer Award. Meanwhile, at the Eastern Region Awards, Jason Faulkner, another Inviron apprentice, finished third in the competition.
James Boyle, who was nominated for this award by his JTL training officer, for his continued hard work and dedication to his training, now goes through to compete for the National Apprenticeship Award in February 2009.
He commented: "It's a real honour to be the region's top apprentice. The last four years have been a real challenge and knowing that I've got a great future ahead of me makes it all worthwhile.
"I can't thank my JTL mentor, Danny Blyth Tancock, and employer, Inviron, enough as they have supported me to gain the skills and experience which will help me in the future. They have inspired and encouraged me to recognise what I can achieve as an electrician."
Rob Robson, General Manager at Inviron, added: "I am very proud that James' hard work and commitment to both Inviron and his apprenticeship has been recognised in this way. James is always striving to improve upon his skills and to learn through working alongside his more experienced colleagues. We all wish James good luck for the national finals in February next year.
We were also pleasantly surprised to have received the Best Apprentice Employer Award, which is independently awarded by the JTL."
Inviron's reputation for investing in its people is borne out by commitment to its apprenticeship programme, which currently has 58 trainees at varying stages, and by working alongside training organisations, such as JTL.
