An employee of Inviron, the Solihull-based leading building services and facilities management provider, is preparing to take to stage of the Birmingham Hippodrome.
Melanie Flint, who works in Inviron's accounts department, based at the business' head office in Birmingham Business Park, is in full swing rehearsing for an amateur dramatic production of Thoroughly Modern Millie.
Melanie, from Solihull, is a member of the Birmingham and Midland Operatic Society (BMOS) musical theatre company and will be part of the chorus for the performance, due to be staged from Tuesday 26th June to Saturday 30th June.
Over the past four years with BMOS, 25-year-old Melanie, who besides singing also acts and dances, has performed in musicals including West Side Story, 42nd Street and Me & My Girl.
Melanie said: "Performing is so exciting. I feel nervous before a show but once I step on stage it gives me such a buzz that the nerves disappear.
"I am really looking forward to doing Thoroughly Modern Millie, it is a funny show with excellent songs and dances and we have a fantastic cast and production team. There is nothing like performing at the Hippodrome, it is an amazing feeling and I can't wait to get out there and do what I love."
The stage play is based on the 1967 movie of the same name that starred Julie Andrews as Millie Dillmount, the small-town girl who moves to New York in 1922.
