Selwyn College

Inviron, the leading building services and facilities management provider, will shortly commence the mechanical and electrical installation work within a new student accommodation building at Selwyn College at the University of Cambridge.

Working alongside Cambridge-based main contractor, Morgan Ashurst, Inviron's Building Systems Eastern Division will help create the new building, housing 40 students in en-suite rooms, along with a basement student common room and TV room. This is located to the south side of the first phase of Ann's Court at Selwyn College.

Inviron will be responsible for installing the mechanical and electrical systems, including fresh air ventilation to the basement areas, heating, mains and sub mains cabling, emergency lighting, CCTV and fire alarms.

Inviron's installation work starts at the end of June 2008 and is scheduled to be completed in April 2009

Colin Clements, General Manager, Inviron commented: "We are pleased to be undertaking this mechanical and electrical installation, particularly as we successfully completed the mechanical and electrical installation project on the first phase of the Ann's Court building in 2005."

Nigel Arnold, Morgan Ashurst contracts manager, said: "We are delighted to be working with Inviron again on phase two of this scheme. Its proactive approach to problem solving and excellent construction teams helped to ensure that the mechanical and electrical systems were completed in line with our Perfect Delivery strategy on phase one."
