Inviron, the leading building services and facilities management provider, has built on its successful apprenticeship programme, and its reputation of investing in its people, by recruiting 20 apprentices, taking its current total to 58 apprentices who are at various stages of their training.
The trainees attend college, either on day or block release, to learn construction theory and best practice, which leads to them attaining technical and key skills certificates. Concurrently, apprentices are able to put their newly acquired skills into practice by working alongside and learning from qualified Inviron employees.
Stuart Widdowfield, James Boyle and Jason Faulkner are just three of the many fine examples of Inviron's successful apprenticeship programme.
Stuart, who works for Inviron in the North East, won the HVCA 4th Year Apprentice of the Year Award and the George Coase Trophy for Best Overall Apprentice. The awards, organised by the Heating, Ventilation and Contractors Association (HVCA), celebrate the best workers and companies in the sector.
Meanwhile, James, who is based in London, was short listed as one of 10 nominees for the Best Apprentice award at the JTL London Regional Awards Ceremony. JTL is the leading training provider to the building services engineering sectors. It works with 3,500 businesses and supports 9,700 apprentices.
Inviron's apprentices gain a variety of skills that allow them to have the confidence to tackle whatever a contract requires. Earlier this year, Jason Faulkner, swapped the mild Ipswich climate for the chilly climes of the Antarctic, where he and a colleague undertook a contract to test and inspect electrical equipment at a British Antarctic Survey research station.
