M&E work at Merseyside college

Leading building services and facilities management provider, Inviron, has begun work on a contract to install the complete mechanical and electrical services at South Sefton Sixth Form College in Litherland, Merseyside.

Inviron is working alongside main contractor, Rok, to fit-out this modern school building with air conditioning, natural ventilation, underfloor heating, lighting, LV distribution and small power services.

In addition, Inviron's engineers have already overseen the drilling of 60 boreholes, each 100 metres deep, which will house the ground source heat pumps.  This will equip the College with an innovative method of heating and cooling the building, thereby significantly reducing running costs, maintenance and carbon dioxide emissions.

Eddie Marginson, Inviron's Building Systems North West General Manager, commented: "We are pleased to be working with Rok and are confident that together we will ensure that this building is completed to the highest standards, to provide Merseyside students with a state-of-the-art educational facility."
