Facilities management and building services provider, Inviron, continues to strengthen its ties with Manchester Airport with the award of a new maintenance contract and further work on Terminal One's redevelopment.
Inviron will be, from August 2008, responsible for the Planned Preventative and Reactive Maintenance at the airport's World Freight Centre and its three terminal buildings. The on-site team of nine engineers will maintain the heating and ventilation systems in all these areas, along with the Freight Centre's lighting systems.
Mark Stott, Inviron's National Building Service Operations Manager, commented: "We are looking forward to keeping the heating, ventilation and lighting systems within the airport in optimum condition, therefore, ensuring passengers and visitors encounter a comfortable environment when passing through."
Meanwhile, further to the recent completion of the Outbound Controls project, Inviron's Building Systems team, based at the airport, continue its work on the radical £35m redevelopment of Terminal 1.
The team has begun the refurbishment of the Arrivals Hall, replacing the existing services with new lighting, power, alarms, heating and ventilation systems. The team is also carrying out the Airside Retail areas' mechanical and electrical installation, having designed the system.
The redevelopment is being carried out under the watchful eye of the general public, who will continue to use the facilities throughout the works, as our team ensure minimal disruption within the Terminal.
