Building services and facilities management provider, Inviron, recently commenced work on a mechanical and electrical (M&E) installation project with new client, Wates Interiors, to modify Manchester Evening News' offices.
The existing office layout of the central Manchester-based newspaper has been redesigned to provide more space for employees and visitors, as well as creating additional meeting areas.
As part of this redesign, Inviron's Building Systems North West division will adapt and modify the existing mechanical and electrical systems, which includes improving the ventilation system and installing new fan coils for cooling and heating purposes, along with modification of the specialist fire alarm and BMS systems.
Andrew Hilton, Inviron's Senior Project Manager, commented: "We are working closely with Wates and the Manchester Evening News to ensure this project, which is being carried out in a busy office environment, is completed with minimal noise and disruption to the staff."
A factor in Wates awarding this project to Inviron, was its previous work in the building. In December 2006, Inviron completed a refurbishment project for the accountancy firm Deloitte, which has offices on the uppers floors.
