Inviron, the leading building services and facilities management provider, has been awarded a contract to maintain the Air Ground Lighting System at London City Airport.
Inviron's engineers will be responsible for the daily planned preventative maintenance of the system, which consists of approximately 400 lighting units, ensuring that the lights continue to function in peak condition. This will in turn ensure safe runway operations.
Due to the close proximity to the City, this is the UK's leading business airport, with 11 airlines serving 34 destinations across the UK and Europe. In 2007, over 2.9 million passengers travelled through its terminal.
The airport recently completed construction of four aircraft parking stands and extended its departure lounge to accommodate the steady increase in passenger numbers.
Rob Robson, Inviron's General Manager, Airports and Aviation Services, commented: "We are pleased to be working at London City Airport, once again, and look forward to catching up with a number of colleagues and particularly, to helping keep this crucial London airport operational."
