Inviron begins major Land Securities contract
Inviron, the leading building services and facilities management provider, has begun managing the mechanical and electrical services at 14 prestigious sites in London on behalf of property giant Land Securities.

These sites, which include commercial, retail and office premises, as well as Land Securities' own offices in the Strand, will be manned by approximately 24 Inviron staff. In order to manage this contract, Inviron has added a new helpdesk into its London office to interface with the existing Land Securities Trillium helpdesk.

Inviron already has a close partnership with Land Securities, which is the UK's leading property company and owns and manages approximately six million square metres of commercial property and provides property services to more than 2,500 private and public sector clients.

In March 2007, Inviron took over provision of the M&E services at the prestigious Cardinal Place - a 60,000sq m London development of office and retail space - and in October 2006, Inviron began the management of the M&E services of Land Securities' Portland House portfolio, which consists of 30,000sq m of commercial, retail and residential buildings.

Neil Johnson, Inviron's general manager, London Business Centre, added: "A crucial factor in securing this new contract was our innovative customer care strategy, Inviron dna„¢, which centres around identifying clients' needs and where the service can be improved upon in order to not only meet, but exceed clients' expectations.

"Also, we worked with Land Securities at Regis House, in London, for eight years. During this time we helped Land Securities reduce carbon emissions at this property by raising awareness of energy efficiency, ensuring plant run times reflected building occupation times and ensuring un-used lights were switched off. Total emissions were reduced by 29%, which meant savings of approximately £44,000. Our energy efficiency measures also helped Land Securities achieve the runners-up prize in the European Energy Trophy competition 2004/2005.

"Our approach to partnering was an important factor too. Inviron discusses with clients ways in which we can work together to ensure that clients' needs are met. This is begun at the tender stage and is continued throughout the contract by utilising our DNA strategy.

"Land Securities is also aware of how efficiently Inviron can work in a short space of time. When it awarded us the Portland House contract, we were able to man the six buildings and become fully operational within four weeks."

Richard Weavers, Head of Engineering, Land Securities, added: "We appointed Inviron as our London Service Partner as it is a pro-active organisation that delivers beyond the contract and also its partnership approach was refreshing. So far, we believe all the signs are there to further enhance this relationship in a way that will prove beneficial to both organisations. Also, we are looking forward to sharing our views with Inviron when we begin the DNA process."
