Leading building services and facilities management provider, Inviron, has been appointed by client, ISG Jackson, to undertake the M&E design and installation for a new ‘green' state-of-the-art care home at the Retirement Village in Great Dunmow, near Braintree in Essex.
The new facility (pictured), which has been designed to be in keeping with the current 18th Century building, The Moat House, will contain 60 en-suite bedrooms, a range of communal facilities for residents, staff accommodation and laundry and kitchen areas.
Inviron's mechanical and electrical team, will install ‘green' technologies such as solar power to heat hot water in the staff accommodation building and rain water harvesting. It will also provide a combined heat and power plant, serving all heating and hot water needs in the main 60 bed home and sprinkler protection throughout, along with electrical installations including lighting, power, fire alarms, telephone, IT and CCTV.
Colin Clements, Inviron's General Manager, says: "We are looking forward, once again, to working with ISG Jackson on another project and we shall ensure that our programme of work is carried out with minimum disruption to the local community, neighbours and existing residents of The Moat House."
The project began on-site in April 2010 and is due for completion by spring 2011.
