Building services and facilities management provider, Inviron, has completed another successful project with Carillion, one of the UK's leading construction companies, delivering a brand new energy efficient building, Newcomen Primary School in Redcar.
Inviron co-ordinated and installed the mechanical and electrical services at the school, including a number of energy saving systems comprising of condensing boiler plant, individually controlled and timed underfloor heating, a small storage high recovery hot water system and intelligent and PIR controlled lighting.
Other services fitted to the building were access control and intruder alarms, an intelligent fire alarm system, along with interactive whiteboards, a data infrastructure and wi-fi access points for each classroom.
Alan Crozier, general manager of Inviron's Building Systems North East, said: "This is a first class educational facility, with energy efficient systems which should result in reduced carbon emissions at the school and lower costs for the local authority, whilst providing a comfortable setting where children and teachers can learn and work in comfort."
Steven Church, Project Manager for Carillion, commented: "I would like to congratulate Inviron for being part of our team and working hard to achieve the school's practical completion, in time for the Autumn Term. Both the client and the local authority were overwhelmed with the quality of the building."
