Contract at major educational institute awarded
Solihull-based Inviron, the leading building services and facilities management provider, has been awarded a contract to carry out mechanical and electrical installation works at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

This contract has been awarded by main contractor and one of Inviron's long-standing partners, Osborne, which is a leading UK, privately-owned, construction, civil engineering and property services contractor. Also involved are Downie Consulting Engineers and Devereux Architects Limited.

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is Britain's national school of public health and a leading post-graduate institution in Europe for public health and tropical medicine.

The M&E works to be carried out by Inviron includes construction within an existing courtyard of new lecture theatres, offices and teaching rooms. Inviron is also installing new systems, including electrical and data cables, fire alarms, heating, chilled water, geothermal chilled water, ventilation systems, domestic water and drainage, BMS and specialised lighting systems.

The project will require regular communication with the client due to shutdowns and connections to existing systems and the effect on the school's operations. These works will have to be programmed and carried out to minimise disruption to the school.
