Location: Aberdeen and Montrose, Scotland and Nailsea, Bristol

As part of a productivity initiative at their manufacturing plants in Aberdeen, Montrose and Nailsea, Vetco Gray (GE) contracted Inviron to investigate the operation of their non-core activities such as machine tool maintenance, building services, calibration services, equipment hire, etc.

Extensive investigations of the three sites was undertaken and a comprehensive report and action plan was then submitted. After detailed discussions on the findings, an agreement was reached to proceed with the outsourcing of the non-core activities to Inviron.

By introducing improved manpower utilisation, multi-skilled training and supply management techniques, Inviron were able to offer Vetco Gray a bespoke Technical Facilities Management contract which was implemented in June 2000.

This has resulted in improved service levels, increased efficiency and substantial cost savings.
