Description:
The "Hub"
building was constructed within a busy university campus. The site,
which was bounded on all sides by occupied buildings, posed
significant challenges as "quiet" methods had to be
utilised to avoid disturbing students.
The new structure provides a link
to all the surrounding buildings and incorporates:
- Cafes at lower
ground, ground and first floor levels
- Classrooms on lower ground and
first floor levels
- Conference rooms and a function pavilion
- Student
shops
- Social areas
- AV room
- Toilets and disabled facilities
The
contract, which was awarded to Inviron by main contractor Osborne,
was started in May 2005 and completed on time and within budget in
October 2006. Scope
