Location: Royal Observatory, National Maritime Museum, Greenwich
The £16m redevelopment programme of the Royal Observatory at Greenwich included the restoration of the Grade I listed South Building, incorporating new astronomy galleries and a learning centre along with the complete refurbishment and expansion of visitor access at Flamsteed House.
The project also included construction of the Peter Harrison Planetarium, with its eye catching patinated bronze cone, which has been designed to give a 21st Century introduction to the world beyond the night sky.
Inviron's mechanical and electrical installation on this prestigious project, which was officially opened by the Queen in May 2007, included LPHW heating, ventilation and extract systems, LV distribution, lighting, alarms and public address systems, along with CCTV and access control.
