OrbisEnergy is a purpose built business centre aimed at the offshore renewable industry. Opened in November 2008, the five-storey building provides approximately 30,000 sq ft of managed office space with conference and exhibition facilities for companies operating within the renewable energy supply chain.
The building is a showcase for sustainable materials and components and includes ventilation/heat recovery, solar thermal ‘tracker' hot water heating, comfort cooling and wind catchers. The central heating comes from a woodchip biomass boiler and the building is designed to meet ‘BREEAM' standards, reflecting its low environmental impact.
Inviron undertook the mechanical and electrical installation at OrbisEnergy, including heat recovery, air conditioning and natural ventilation systems, HV/LV supply and distribution, lighting, fire and intruder alarms and the access control system.
