Katie’s career with Inviron began in October 1999, as an Office Junior in the Accounts Department, for 18 months she undertook various duties until she was given the opportunity to take an AAT (Association of Accountancy Technicians) foundation course, which resulted in Katie setting herself the goal of becoming a fully qualified Accountant.
Katie’s roles have, over the years, taken her on the next step in her career at Inviron and towards her ultimate goal. She began her CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) training in 2004, which enabled her to become more involved in the ‘nitty gritty’ of accounting within the business.
Taking on her current role has been Katie’s biggest challenge so far, she now has full accounting responsibility for an area of the Company whose sites are UK wide. Therefore, Katie travels extensively including Scotland, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire, in her new company car an Astra Sport Hatch – in red, of course!!
Katie comments “Since doing the initial AAT course, Inviron have constantly encouraged me to reach my goals, particularly by ensuring that I have a realistic career plan in place. I believe that having this support has helped my progression immensely.”
In between progressing her career, CIMA courses and on-going training Katie managed to fit in a workplace romance, which happily resulted in her marrying Ben in 2006.
